I’m prepping for my favorite craft show, the Holiday Spirit Craft Show that is in Bear River this Saturday (Nov 26).
I like to have something new on offer every year and this year it’s luscious, hand-painted floor cloths.I had so much fun painting these on a huge piece of heavy canvas. Afterwards, I cut the painting into 4 pieces, mitered the corners, folded the edges and glued them to the back. Then I applied 5 coats of satin acrylic varnish.
These will withstand wear. And you know what? They’d look great on a wall too. They are about 19″ x 26″ and are priced at $75.
They are inspired by a very hectic few days in Toronto last month. It was very exciting to be there again. The energy, constant motion, noise, sights and pace of that visit went into these. I need to go back and slow it down.
I have some ideas about incorporating this type of painting into my future work.
I’m introducing a new set of Trivets too. They are digital reproductions of my paintings in a ceramic tile with a cork backing and a loop for hanging. They are 6″ x 6″ and priced at $30.
Stop by my table at the show and say hi!
